Focus Goal Four:
Strengthen leadership in the use of e-learningto enhance effective teaching and learning. Develop strategic e-learning leadership and ICT plans for each school.

Implement the principles of the New Zealand Curriculum/Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, through learning programmes that develop; an understanding of student learningoutcomes through SOLO Taxonomy, and the effective integration of e-learning.

BTG Lead Teacher Helen Smith gave a report on new learning from Learning at School 2011 and shared conference highlights that she has introduced on her return.


BTG Lead Teacher Rehana Karim gave a report on new learning from Learning at School 2011 and shared ICT sites and applications that can enhance literacy outcomes
BTG Lead Teacher Qamar Sultana gave a report on new learning from Learning at School 2011 and shared a list of "Useful Educational Websites" (refer ICTs for multistructural learning outcomes resource")
Julie Mills shared a Learning at Schools 08 presentation from Jes Roddy on effective search strategies when using Google and other search engines.
BTG Lead Teacher Sheryl Wright shared how she uses hoax websites to develop students' critical thinking about reliability and validity of information online.

End of session sharing the work we have done today:

Waterlea Lead Teachers -
Leigh, Helen, Stef – Explored sites that Pam showed them. Put together Survey Monkey questions for Looking at IT in Waterlea School. Set up a Mrthread space – for the mini conference “What do you want to share at the mini expo in October?”
Helen/Andrea/Stef – videoed their reflection
VLN Reflection –Jane and Leigh created a message and posted it on the VLN.

Jean Batten Lead Teachers
Debbie/Sheree – Looked at the data from their staff on their use of ICT. They are going to have a staff meeting to share the responses. Debbie/Sheree/Nadine are going to work with the staff on making power point presentations by asking them what interests them and from there they can show them how to create a presentation – they are to bring photos along of family etc . They will designate a day a month in the computer suite that teachers can come and ask for help if they wish.

Al-Madinah Lead Teachers
Farzana showed the video that her group created by Rehana, Qamar, Andrea and Safina, on what they have been doing in the classroom. Farzana also looked at the Interface Magazine and saved websites to her favourites on what she can use in the classroom.
Safina – looked at websites that Pam shared. She also looked at Scratch that Sheryl showed her and experimented with this.
Rehana – tried making a storyboard and planning how she can use it in her class.
